CMAI creates opportunities to provide a platform to connect with Member Institutions and individual members of the region and engage with fellow Christian health workers at hospitals. In the view of phase 2 of the #GrowwithCMAI initiative, focuses on growing with all the opportunities given to become sturdy, resilient, and adaptable in the wake of several challenging situations faced by many mission hospitals in the present times. The webinar brings all the healthcare professionals' team and students together with participants across the region and India, thereby creating an opportunity to learn, encourage each other, and acknowledge the work progress through the healing ministry in the present times.

The CMAI Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Regional team organized an educational webinar for healthcare professionals on “Mission Hospitals – “Resilience and Relevance” by Dr. Vinod Shah, Senior Pediatric Surgeon and Medical Mission Leader. (View Video)

In addition to an inaugural session, the educational session focused on how to equip and motivate healthcare professionals for commitment and empowerment of CMAI network hospital nonmember institutions, and individual members in the webinar. 

Participants from 112 mission hospitals (from 23 AP & TS and 88 from other states, 08 non-member institutions from the AP region, and many healthcare teams and students from the government / private institutions from across AP and Telangana attended the webinar. Most of the institutions/ nursing and medical students participated in groups. 

Among the total attendees were 374 CMAI Andhra Pradesh and the Telangana region hosted the webinar. The webinar began with an opening prayer by Ms. Elsy John, Secretary, Administrators section, CMAI, followed by Dr. Jyothsna who delivered a welcome note and introduced the speaker of the day.

Christian Medical Association of India (CMAI) is an association of Christian healthcare institutions and individual healthcare professionals in India. It is a charitable, non-governmental organization and an educational society, that serves as a Christian network of hospitals and healthcare professionals promoting medical care in hard-to-reach communities through its member institutions or by direct technical inputs. Position Overview: One position is vacant to be based at MIBE, Nagpur 

Qualifications and requirements: The candidate must be a Graduate Nurse –MSc Nursing / BSc nursing with a minimum of 5 years’ experience. Must have taught in a School/College of Nursing for at least three years. Should be willing to travel. Must have fluency in Hindi and English. Placement is at the MIBE office, Nagpur, Maharashtra 

Job Summary: Responsible for providing professional & secretarial support to ensure that services are provided effectively and efficiently. Assisting the MIBE Secretary in all Board activities. 

Reporting to: Secretary, MIBE 

Key Roles & Responsibilities: 

· Assisting in arrangement of MIBE meetings. 
· Assisting in preparation of MIBE exams: Question paper preparation, typing, proof reading ,packing and results preparation. 
· Assisting in Hindi translation of necessary documents including typing of question paper 
· Entering, verifying & preparing internal Assessment files/ records 
· Maintaining and updating files/records, assists in typing official letters and documents. 
· Assisting in editing books. 
· Making arrangement to print, receive and issue certificates to schools and maintaining records. 
· Maintaining inventory records. 
· Keeping records of printed materials. 
· Assisting in issuing of other certificates from the board. 

Age limit: Should be at least 25 years of age.

The two-day workshop on Excellence in Patient Experience, organized by CMAI in collaboration with Bangalore Baptist Hospital, took place on February 2nd and 3rd, 2024. The workshop aimed to raise awareness and empower leadership and supervisory staff from various non-profit mission hospitals across India regarding the significance of enhancing patient experience within healthcare institutions. 

The workshop commenced with an inaugural address by Chief Guest Dr. Spurgeon, Director of Bangalore Baptist Hospital, setting the tone for the event. The day was divided into four sessions, focusing on different aspects of patient experience enhancement. 

Session 1 & 2: Mr. Mohan Kumar PK, an experienced consultant from the TATA/TAJ Group of Hotels in India, delivered insightful presentations on "Hospitality in Hospitals for better patient experience." His expertise gave attendees valuable insights into adapting hospitality principles to healthcare settings. 

Session 3: Dr. Naveen Thomas, Senior Advisor at Bangalore Baptist Hospital, conducted a session titled "Understanding Patients for Achieving Excellent Patient Experiences," emphasizing the importance of patient-centered care. 

Session 4: Dr. Manju Chacko, Manager of the Quality Department at Bangalore Baptist Hospital, addressed "Patient concerns and feedback management," offering strategies for effectively managing patient feedback to drive improvements. 

On the second day of the workshop, I continued with sessions focused on behavioral aspects and organizational culture in enhancing the patient experience. 

Session 5: Ms. Seema Das, an expert in Customer Services and L&D Professional, discussed "Non-negotiable behaviors for healthcare staff," highlighting the essential attributes for delivering exceptional patient care. 

Session 6: Dr. Sunil Chandy, Medical Director of the ITC Healthcare Project, explored "The Organization's Role in Achieving Outstanding Patient Experience through Cultivating an Appropriate Organizational Culture," emphasizing the importance of fostering a patient-centric culture within healthcare institutions. 

Session 7: Mr. Babu Koshy, an expert travel and tourism professional, conducted a session on "Empowerment, Training, and Equipping Staff at Various Touchpoints," providing practical strategies for enhancing staff capabilities to deliver exceptional patient experiences. 

The workshop concluded with a valedictory session, acknowledging the contributions of speakers and participants in enriching the discourse on patient experience enhancement. 

Conclusion: The workshop on Excellence in Patient Experience provided a platform for healthcare leaders to gain valuable insights and practical strategies for enhancing patient care delivery in their respective institutions. The diverse range of topics covered and the speakers' expertise contributed to a comprehensive understanding of the importance of patient-centered care in improving healthcare outcomes. Moving forward, participants are expected to apply the knowledge gained to drive positive changes in patient experience within their organizations.
