CMAI is a national NGO and a fellowship of Christian Hospitals and Christian Healthcare Professionals in India. CMAI works to serve the church in India to equip, assist and encourage it in its ministry of health, healing and wholeness.
CMAI invites application from eligible, interested and committed Christian candidates with good standing for the post of General Secretary (CEO) of CMAI. This is a leadership position, working with health professionals, mission hospitals, churches, civil societies, Government, representing Christian health work and provides exciting opportunities to lead transformational changes in health, training and policy making. The details and requirement regarding the position are as given below:
Age limit: between preferable 40 years to 55 years.
Full time Position requires to be based in Delhi.
Qualifications: Post Graduate degree in any healthcare discipline.

Presenting CMJI Edition 39.1 under Healing Ministry Theme: 'Perfect Peace'
Dialysis Technology Tutors Course, Christian Medical Association of India, has celebrated its first graduation day on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, in the CSI Retreat Centre, Kanyakumari, at 3.30 pm. The dignitaries of the ceremony were the General Secretary of the CMAI, Dr. Priya John, the Chief Guest, Dr. Ninoo George (DTTC) Convenor, CMAI, Mr. Lyric Abraham, AHP and CEB Secretary, Mr. Paul Patrick (Chairman, AHP), Mr. Santhosh, Regional Coordinator for Tamil Nadu, and Mr. A.P. Berry, Course Coordinator.
The celebrations started with a prayer by Rev. Abel Vethamani, and after the prayer, a song was sung. The Scripture portion was read by Ms. Priya. The dignitaries adorned the dais, and after the customary invocation, the AHP and CEB Secretary, Mr. Lyric Abraham, welcomed all the dignitaries and graduates. The secretary felicitated the guest with a bouquet and introduced them to the gathering. The brief introduction of the DTTC program, the introduction of graduates, and the brief report presented by Mr. A.P. Berry (Course Coordinator). During Dr. Ninoo George, Convenor, DTTC Course address, he pointed out that learning is a continuous process. We must need hard work, dedication, skills, and commitment to the work.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Priya John, shared her experience that once when she was admitted in a hospital with severe pain of shoulder dislocation, the comforting words, caring touch and smiling face of the radiographer, really relieved her and it helped her to relax and the technician helped her to bring back the shoulder in position without much strain and pain, she emphasized the importance of good communication in our profession and she urged each tutor to enlighten their students by imparting values. Ms. Reena Mathew shared her study experience with happiness. Around six tutors attended the ceremony to celebrate their success. They can enjoy each and every moment of the ceremony comfortably. The speech was followed by the certificate distribution to the graduates by the dignitaries on the dais. The 10 students in the 2022 batch total 6 students who were awarded Tutor Diploma on that day by the Guest of Honors, and the other 4 students collected their Tutor Diploma from the administrative office.
After the certificate distribution, AHP Secretary appreciated Mr A.P Berry for all his efforts to start the Dialysis Diploma Course in 2013 and initiating the Tutor Diploma Program in 2022, on behalf of CMAI Dr Priya General Secretary and Dr Ninoo George Convenor DTTC honoured Mr A.P Berry with an Appreciation Memento. The course coordinator then declared the graduation day closed. Mr. Lyric Abraham delivered the vote of thanks, and the function ended with prayer, followed by the cultural program and photo session, followed by dinner.

Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Region of Christian Medical Association of India & Scudder Memorial Hospital, Ranipet jointly hosted an Inter-State Level Workshop on Implementing Quality & Safety Standards in Mission Hospitals, focusing on the NABH Entry Level Standards from 13th-15th June 2024. The workshop, part of the CMAI NABH Support Series, brought together 31 healthcare professionals from 11 mission hospitals from Tamil Nadu & Andhra Pradesh to foster a collaborative approach to quality improvement. Participants engaged in a variety of sessions, drawing on the extensive resources and expertise of Scudder Memorial Hospital, which was showcased as a model for successfully adhering to NABH standards.
This initiative highlighted the commitment of mission hospitals to support each other in enhancing healthcare quality and safety across their institutions.
The CMAI Kerala Region organized a webinar series titled "Navigating Legal Horizons in Healthcare: An Overview." This series comprised four sessions, held on consecutive Fridays from May 24, 2024, to June 14, 2024. A total of 46 members from 33 institutions participated. The sessions covered various legal aspects relevant to healthcare, aiming to enhance participants' understanding of the regulatory, taxation, ethical, and medico-legal issues in the healthcare sector.
The first session, held on May 24, 2024, was presented by Ms. Rosy Marcel, the Kerala Regional Secretary. Ms. Marcel provided an in-depth look into the regulatory environment for healthcare establishments in India. She covered fundamental constitutional rights related to healthcare, including the Right to Life and Health, the Right to Privacy as established in the landmark K.S. Puttaswamy vs. Union of India case, and other essential rights like emergency care, access to medicines, and health insurance. Additionally, she discussed various healthcare legislation such as the Clinical Establishments Act, the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, and the Mental Health Care Act 2017, alongside the roles of regulatory councils like the National Medical Commission and the Indian Nursing Council.
On May 31, 2024, Mr. Aji Jacob, Finance Manager at BCMCH Thiruvalla, presented the second session, focusing on the Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India. Mr. Jacob explained GST's implementation as a comprehensive, multi-stage, destination-based tax system replacing various indirect taxes. He highlighted its impact on the healthcare industry, noting that essential healthcare services remain exempt to maintain affordability. Despite initial challenges like increased compliance costs, GST's benefits include increased transparency, higher tax compliance, and improved logistics efficiency, making India an attractive destination for foreign investments.
The third session, conducted on June 7, 2024, was led by Maj. Beena C. A., Chief Nursing Officer at Baby Memorial Hospital. She focused on the intricate balance of legal, ethical, and moral obligations in the healthcare profession, particularly in the patient-professional relationship. Maj. Beena delved into various facets of the legal system, emphasizing the importance of understanding laws that govern medical practice to avoid medico-legal issues. Key principles discussed included autonomy, beneficence, non-maleficence, justice, and fidelity, which are foundational to ethical nursing practice. The session also stressed the role of nurses in ensuring patient rights, maintaining confidentiality, and the critical need for accurate documentation to protect both patients and healthcare providers. By exploring common legal pitfalls and providing
guidelines for safe practice, the webinar aimed to equip nursing professionals with the knowledge to navigate legal responsibilities and uphold high standards of patient care.
The fourth and final session, held on June 14, 2024, focused on Medico Legal Cases and was again led by Ms. Rosy Marcel. This session aimed to enhance understanding among healthcare professionals regarding the intersection of medicine and law, particularly through real-life examples. Ms. Marcel emphasized the importance of medico-legal reporting, detailing doctors' duties, potential medico-legal cases, and the necessary course of action. Key topics included the legal responsibilities of doctors, the types of cases that require medico-legal attention, and the procedures for reporting and documentation. The session also covered the implications of non-reporting under Indian law. Real-life case studies highlighted various scenarios, including injuries from accidents, suspected criminal activities, and cases of domestic violence. The discussion extended to malpractice, negligence, financial disputes, and strategies for safeguarding interests in the healthcare setting. This session was integral in raising awareness and equipping healthcare professionals with the knowledge to navigate the complexities of medico-legal cases effectively.
The primary goal of this workshop is to develop current and future leaders by providing them with essential managerial skills. It offers a valuable chance for participants to both acquire new knowledge and reevaluate existing practices. The program includes comprehensive coverage of leadership development, resource management, and management excellence.

Position Overview: One position is vacant to be based at CMAI headquarters, New Delhi.
Nature of job: Full time; Manage the day-to-day affairs of the finance dept, to coordinate and supervise the accounts. Should have good communication, leadership & networking skills, excellent team player and proficiency in computers.
Reporting to: The General Secretary, CMAI.
Qualifications and requirements: MBA in Finance or M. Com plus 7-10 years’ experience, preferably in an NGO. Strong foundation in accountancy, Tally and MS Office is required. Working knowledge of payroll software, knowledge of Income Tax, FCRA, GST, Statutory compliances for NGOs and labor laws are essential to carry out the responsibilities.
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
· Manage the day-to-day affairs of the finance department.
· Supervise and guide State offices and ensure statutory compliance with accounting policies and procedures.
· Thorough knowledge of statutory requirements like FCRA, Income Tax, Charity Commissioner, GST, ESI, PF etc. and online filing of returns.
· Pay roll management & Assets Management.
· Implementation of internal control systems as per the organization’s policies.
· Make regular Budget variance reports, burn rate reports etc.
· Support in developing budget estimations for any new opportunities that arises related to projects in close coordination with the Program Team.
· Preparation of yearly Budget and its control & adhere to process around Cost allocations to Grants.
· Attending the Board meetings and presentation of MIS
· Provide supervision and ensure to adhere procurement process of organisation and provide supervision of IT infrastructure & requirements at the state level & building capacities of finance staff.
· Finalization of Balance sheets of all units.
· Any other responsibility as assigned from time to time by the Organization.
