
The Allied Health Professional section is a forum association for all allied health professionals who are working in health care centers. Broadly, there are about 60 disciplines. CMAI motivates and encourages these individuals through training courses, conferences and workshops.
The Allied Health Section became a part of CMAI in 1963. AHP Section celebrated it’s Golden Jubilee in 2013 during the CMAI 42nd Biennial conference at Karunya, Coimbatore.
In 2016 CMAI got on board with Healthcare Sector Skill Council as Training Partner to conduct multiple Short term allied health courses.
There are 3 Core Functions of the AHP Section at CMAI
Since 1905, with its long history of training healthcare professionals across the country, the AHP section has identified the areas of need for dedicated training programmes. The section has been offering these courses through it’s members' institutions to provide high-quality programmes of wide range of fields to healthcare professionals. With experts in relevant fields, AHP section has always been intended to provide these courses affordable and ensure the standards at all levels.
The first Laboratory technician certificate training programme started in 1927 at Arogyavaram Medical Center, Madanappally, Andhra Pradesh. Currently the AHP section delivers 30 dedicated courses with its 60 training centers/hospitals across the country. The section has become the witness of 600 students getting successfully trained each year from these institutions.
