We are grateful to share with you a special edition that captures the Combined National Conference 2022. Along with that a spcial feature on Mental Health & Well-being of Children Amid COVID-19 by Bal Raksha Bharat. This records our first in-person interaction post Covid-19, wherein various CMAI members across Sections; Administrators, Allied Health Professionals, Chaplains, Doctors and Nurses League were present. We realised that the opportunity of fellowship was greatly missed by our members, partners and staff across the nation.
The Covid-19 Pandemic has taken much from us. Nobody ever imagined that we would have to live through such a calamity. However, this issue focusses on finding that silver lining in our collective experiences, both at hospitals and at home. We have therefore contributed to the appropriate theme of this edition of Christian Medical Journal of India as “The Unsung Heroes of Covid-19”.

Dear Readers,
The 118th edition of Footsteps in Hindi is is titled - Community-led advocacy.
About the edition: It can often feel like there is nothing we can do in the face of injustice and inequality. But when several people join together to call for change, powerful decision-makers can be influenced and difficult situations can be transformed. This edition of Footsteps focuses on how community members and local organisations can use advocacy tools – such as lobbying, campaigning and movement building – to address issues that affect their lives.

In Assam like every year, floods arrive and devastate the villages, displacing hundreds and thousands of inhabitants. This year too when the floods began, almost in tandem the relief work from the Government and the NGOs reached out. We are witness to the support because the Member Institutions were actively involved.
Post receiving the relief material during floods, life is most difficult as flood water disappears, hence we reached out with daily grocery and other hygiene material. As the waters receded, CMAI along with its member institution – Burrows Memorial Christian Hospital and prepared relief material to be handed over to 200 families.
