Interesting Historical Facts: ECOS was born out of a vision of Dr. Mihir Kumar Bal when God saved his life from a near fatal road accident in 1984, while returning from an eye camp. He could see the purpose of God for which his life was saved. He considers life after that accident as a gift from God to serve Blind people. Taking a step-in faith, he resigned from Government job and with the support of friends in Emmanuel Hospital Association (EHA) New Delhi, & EHA European Fellowship ECOS Ministry took shape on 1st May 1991 and was registered as a charitable society in 1992. Contribution and encouragement of EHA in the formative years of ECOS has remained as an unforgettable memory in the life of ECOS.
