  • Interesting historical facts:  The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Muzaffarpur started in 1904 as home to homeless leprosy affected people by German Missionary, Dr Rifemtrop. When treatment for leprosy was started with medicine in region, the asylum developed as Hospital. In 1968 it became full-fledged hospital with tertiary level leprosy care centre for all complications of leprosy.
  • The Leprosy Mission Hospital, Muzaffarpur is recognised by Govt. of India as tertiary level referral centre. It offers tertiary level care to leprosy affected people of 10 districts of Bihar. ​
