Christian Medical Association of India (CMAI) is a network of 350 hospitals and more than 10,000 individual health professionals in India. CMAI is a leader in prevention, care and technical preparedness in existing and emerging diseases. We collaborate with Indian and international partners to assist and implement National Health Mission’s policies and programs. CMAI under a five-year Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Centers of Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), India, focuses on improving the quality of government supported Blood Banks across India. Under the Project Quality Management Systems –Blood Banks (QMS-BB) CMAI works closely with the Division of Blood Transfusion Services (BTS) of the National AIDS Control Organization (NACO), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in rolling-out multiple strategies for strengthening quality.
CMAI works with the Lab Services Division of NACO in improving quality of services in selected district laboratories (Labs for Life Project) in seven states under the Cooperative Agreement with CDC.
The CMAI CDC- Labs for Life (L4L) partnership project of Ministry of Health and Family Welfare Government of India and CDC for improving quality of laboratory services, building sustainable laboratory systems, and strengthening institutions within the public health sector
The project supports activities to improve quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of laboratory systems under the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MOHFW).
CMAI is currently inviting one Regional Advisor for one of its Project implemented by CMAI.
Title: CMAI- CDC – L4L Public health Laboratory Strengthening under L4L.
Location: Regional Office.
Reports to: General Secretary, CMAI
Duration of the contract: June 2017 -March 2018.
Desired Technical Skills: Over all responsible for implementation of the program activities across the Region & when required would be beyond borders.
Role: As Regional Advisor, you will be responsible for providing leadership & develop the implementation plan of the project activity.
This position requires:
- High level of competent skills in understanding country context, sensitivities.
- In house Country Policies with reference to public health.
- Develop optimal level of inter personal skills across the region
- Build constructive relationships across region with partners and communities.
- Diplomacy & other regional advocacy skills.
- Engages and works well with others outside the organizations to build better outcome.

The position involves travel in the region to promote CMAI activities even beyond borders.
Desired Qualification & Experience: Post graduate with 20 years of experience in Public health and working in health systems would be highly desirable. Preferences will be given for those with working experience with Government & International Agencies.
Duration of Service contract – 1 June 2017 to 31 March 2018.
Salary compensation/ package will be on par with the industry norm, based on the qualifications and experience.
